Angie Nobile – Studio Co-Owner
Xtend Barre Scripps/Poway owner and instructor Angie Nobile has more than a decade of professional fitness experience, and is certified in Piloxing, Mat Pilates through Power Pilates, and of course, Xtend Barre, and Xtend Barre Stick. Angie brings her positive and powerful spirit to everything she tackles, and believes Xtend Barre is first and foremost about creating a community of like-minded women, giving them a place to gather and encourage each other to live a healthy lifestyle. Angie fell in love with Xtend Barre three months after the birth of her son. Within weeks she was amazed at the results – her stomach was tightening and her arms and legs were even more chiseled than before. She knew then Xtend Barre offered truly more than her ‘old’ workouts ever could! “As a new mom struggling to find my pre-baby body, I knew I needed something beyond the gym to get back in shape. Something that was convenient for my busy schedule, challenging, and above all, got results,” Angie said. “And the dancer in me loved that Xtend brought together two of my passions – Pilates and ballet.” The Michigan native earned her MBA from Purdue University at just 24 years old, and quickly soared in her corporate career with Fortune 500 Companies. Angie also holds a Bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University. A dancer since age 6, she danced competitively both locally and nationally throughout childhood, and was a three-year member of the nationally recognized “MSU Motion Dance Team”. Angie moved to San Diego, California, in 2004 and is currently the President of FemCity San Diego, a professional women's business organization. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to provide health and happiness to woman of all shapes and sizes, and is dedicated to using Xtend Barre to help them discover their full fitness potential and their strength within.
Sara Peelle, Studio Co-Owner
Sara Peelle, owner and certified instructor at Xtend Barre Scripps Poway is a devoted mother of two with a passion for promoting an active and healthy lifestyle. The Oregon born native graduated from the University of Oregon with her B.S. in General Science, before relocating to San Diego with her husband—who at the time, was drafted by the NFL to play for the San Diego Chargers. Peelle then went on to earn her doctorate in Physical Therapy from Loma Linda University. While studying PT, Peelle frequently incorporated the principals of Pilates into the rehabilitation programs for her clients. After completing an extensive training program, she received her certification to become and instructor with BASI Pilates in 2006. In addition, Peelle is an avid runner and is currently training for her 7th marathon this spring. As a mother, Sara has learned her time is valuable and understands the schedule constraints of many working women. She immediately fell in love with Xtend Barre’s method of training because of its ability to completely transform your body and to target trouble areas. Sara’s decision to become involved with Xtend Barre was a natural progression of her own physical pursuits. “Xtend Barre provides an incredible total body work out in 55 minutes. Not only does it tone your body, but it has a fast paced cardio element as well. I can say that as a runner, I value the additional component that Xtend Barre provides as part of my cross training. It’s an exhilarating way to exercise!” Peelle’s husband Justin currently plays for the Atlanta Falcons, and although they spend time in Atlanta, she has made Poway the permanent home for her family. She is thrilled to introduce the Xtend Barre workout to the Scripps Ranch and Poway communities and looks forward to creating partnerships with other local businesses and charitable organizations. Most importantly, alongside her partner Angie Nobile, she hopes to create an outlet for like-minded women, giving them a place to gather and encourage each other to live a healthier lifestyle.
Sara Yasuda, Instructor
After discovering her passion for dance and choreography at a very early age, in 1999 Sara relocated to San Diego to continue her dance studies at San Diego State University, majoring in dance. She has trained with Paul Koverman from California Ballet, and numerous names in the modern dance world such as Jean Isaacs, Melissa Nunn, and Faith Jensen-Ismay. Sara was also a member of SDSU’s dance team. In 2001, she became captain/ choreographer of the collegiate team, winning many national awards and receiving top honors. In 2003, Sara began teaching competitive dance to kids of all ages at the San Diego Dance Centre where she has been a top instructor for 8 years. Looking for a lower impact work out for herself, she tried Xtend Barre and was instantly hooked! She believes you can give your body the long lines of a dancer's without the harsh effects on your joints.
Kristy Valdivia, Instructor
Originally from Up-State New York, Kristy’s extreme passion for Health and Fitness originated at a very young age. She began to dance at the young age of 3 and has over 15 years of dance experience compiled from Jazz, Tap, Ballet and Lyrical. Kristy’s competitive spirit was displayed as a college student/athlete with a dual major degree in Business Administration and Communication studies from State University New York at Oswego. She used her height advantage playing Varsity Volleyball earning “All Conference” Honors her senior year. A healthy lifestyle is a passion of hers and you will see that spirit shine through in her classes. Living with severe scoliosis, multiple doctors suggested surgery. She chose to stay active and with over a decade of teaching experience, Kristy holds her Primary Group Exercise Certification through AFAA and is Mat Pilates certified. A current Spinning and Body Pump instructor, Kristy is thrilled to add Xtend Barre to her fitness regime. “Not only is this workout fun, but it is incredibly effective in targeting those challenging areas. I feel it gets me back to my roots, with gaining that dancer-like physique, and postural benefits I need, I love it!!” Kristy’s well rounded background and experience makes her an incredible addition to the Xtend Barre team, and she hopes to share her enthusiasm with each of you to achieve your personal best!
Summer Tiana McMillen, Instructor
Having had slipped on her first pair of ballet shoes at the age of 5, Summer literally grew up in dance studios and on theater stages. After earning her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology & Social Behavior from UC Irvine, Summer moved to the east coast where she worked professionally as a musical theater actress. She enjoyed her time living in New York and Virginia, but was excited to return home to San Diego where she eventually married her high school sweetheart, Mike, in 2006. Summer maintains her love of dance & theater, and participates in local community theater productions when she has spare time. As an adult, Summer discovered a passion for running (full and half marathon distances), and is Co-Captain of her company’s charitable running team. She enjoys watching the runners achieve different milestones in their training, and is thrilled to be able to witness similar transformations with her Xtend Barre clients! Summer fell in love with Xtend Barre immediately after being introduced to it! It lengthens and strengthens the body, sculpting the nice lean muscles we all want! It combines certain elements of dance and cardio that she so loves, and she appreciates that it’s a TOTAL body workout in a 55-minute class. Perfect for ladies with a busy schedule, such as herself! Summer also holds a Mat Pilates certification. She looks forward to seeing you all at the barre!
Mandi Alt, Instructor
Mandi is a San Diego native and has been dancing since the age of 4. Her dance history of ballet, tap, jazz and modern led her to teaching hip hop dance from her late teens to early twenties. The love of dance and choreography ignited the desire for leading active and healthy lifestyle. Encouraged by her passion for fitness Mandi had been constantly challenging herself with various forms of exercise, including: Boot Camp, Pilates, Cycling, Weight Training, Running, Zumba, Yoga, and more before being introduced to Xtend Barre Fitness. From Mandi's first class she found herself in by far the most physically rewarding place of fitness. In seeing amazing physical results within the first two months, Mandi knew that she wanted to be a part of the Xtend Barre Team to inspire and help others achieve their optimal fitness goals.
