Sarah Soares - Studio Manager & Instructor

Sarah’s love of dance began at the early age of 3 when she took up Ballet, Tap and Jazz. She later added Tahitian, Poi, and Hula to her list of interests and became Dance Captain of her High School’s Advanced Dance Team. After High School Sarah taught Private Studio lessons in Tap, Jazz, Ballet and Hip Hop in addition to Choreographing dozens of musical theater shows and show choir performances for local Youth Theaters and middle schools/high schools. Sarah later received her Bachelors in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Physical Education from Cal State University San Marcos which helped her further explore the science behind fitness and how the body reacts to movement and exercise. After College Sarah was offered a role at Disneyland Paris as a Character Performer and Dancer and then in 2009 she moved back to sunny California and continued her work at Disneyland Anaheim. Her desire for dance, movement and fitness lead Sarah to an Xtend Barre class where she fell in love with the workout for its grace, cardiovascular focus and special attention to technique and ballet fundamentals. “I love how Xtend Barre lets me experience the joy of movement I felt when dancing, but I also get the lengthening benefits of Pilates combined with the cardiovascular and strength training benefits of a full gym workout (without the gym)!”

Michelle Bayne - Instructor

Michelle is a San Diego native who just recently moved back in town after finishing her second in business marketing degree at the University of Southern California, Marshall School of Business. Fight On!! Michelle discovered her love for fitness later in life due to debilitating asthma as a child and two collapsed lungs. At 25 she set several ambitious fitness goals including running a half marathon. To date she has run over 5 half marathons and is in training for her first full marathon. With no dance experience she was a little apprehensive to try Xtend Barre but was amazed by her friends results and figured she would give it a try. She loved the results she saw and all the support and encouragement she received. After leaving San Diego to attend USC she was so excited to see that a studio was opening in Hollywood. The sense of community and the Xtend Barre family helped her through the transition of moving so much that she found herself going 6 days a week. Beyond the obvious physical results she found an extreme increase in her endurance and cut over 30 minutes off of her race time. Her love for Xtend Barre as well as the amazing group of supportive members of the Xtend Barre family of instructors, owners, and clients led her to become an instructor herself. She looks forward to sharing her passion for Xtend Barre with clients as well as helping them to reach and exceed their own fitness goals.
